Modern Animals are a high impact alternative rock band from Scotland, built to deliver big hooks, memorable choruses, and a live show that hits like a moment you can’t forget.

Formed in November 2009 as The Static Cult, the band features Jim (guitar/vocals), Doog (guitar/vocals), Shev (bass/vocals), and Kris (drums/vocals). The band released their self titled EP, The Static Cult in 2011 to critical acclaim. Across years of touring, they supported a standout range of internationally recognised acts including Bad Religion, Bush, Ignite, Therapy?, Black Pacific, The Living End, The Bronx, and more. Those shows refined their instincts for pace, dynamics, and crowd connection. Crafting songs that build momentum from the first note and stay with people long after the final chorus.

In 2016, The Static Cult went on hiatus. In 2026, the members reunited, reformed, and rebranded as Modern Animals. Sharper, more focused, and ready to make an immediate impact.

Their new album, The Wounds That Shape Us is cathartic alternative rock with an unmistakable sense of purpose. It’s hope forward and built for times when things feel heavy.
